Temple Beth El is proud to have as our Religious Leader Cantor Larry I. Charson.

Cantor Charson brings a wealth of talent and knowledge to our community as the newest Jewish leader for both congregations Temple Beth El and Temple B'nai Israel in Kalamazoo.

Cantor Charson holds a BFA in voice from Boston University. He did graduate studies in Special Education and Music Therapy.

He is a graduate with honors and awards from Hebrew Union College. He is certified as a teacher of Hebrew and Jewish Music.

Cantor Charson attended the New England Conservatory of Music Graduate School Opera Theatre and has performed concerts at Temples, Hadassah functions and community events. He was a guest speaker at Rice University Graduate School of Music.

With more than 25 years of experience in leading worship services, tutoring B’nai Mitzvah students, pastoral and  hospice care, Cantor Charson has been a great addition to our Jewish Community and the community at large.
